What is a Dependent ITAS?

A Dependent ITAS is an Immigration Stay Permit granted to foreign family members—including spouses and children under the age of 18—who follow the primary ITAS holder to live and reside in Indonesia.

Requirement Document Dependent ITAS

Spouse:

1. Passport with a validity of more than 6 months (18 months is recommended for a 1-year stay and 30 months for a 2-year stay).
2. Proof of living expenses of at least US$2,000 (two thousand American dollars) or equivalent.
3. A recent color photograph measuring 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm (35 mm x 45 mm) with a white background.
4. Curriculum Vitae.
5. Travel Itinerary.
6. Application letter and letter of guarantee from the Guarantor.
7. Marriage certificate or marriage book that has been translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator except those that have been written in English.
8. A valid Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) or Limited Stay Visa (VITAS) of the husband or wife.

Children:

1. Passport with a validity of more than 6 months (18 months is recommended for a 1-year stay and 30 months for a 2-year stay).

3. A recent color photograph measuring 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm (35 mm x 45 mm) with a white background.

Who is the guarantor for a Dependent ITAS?

If the foreign national (primary) resides in Indonesia using an employment-based ITAS or an investor, the guarantor is the company. The company sponsors the Dependent ITAS.

Rights & Obligations of Dependent ITAS Holders

Rights:

1. Living with Family
   Can legally reside in Indonesia with spouse and children.
2. Exiting and Entering Indonesia
   Can enter and exit Indonesia as long as the Stay Permit (ITAS) and Re-Entry Permit (MERP) are still valid.
3. Access to Public Facilities
   Facilitates access to public facilities and the opening of local bank accounts.
4. Residence Permit Extension
   Can apply for an ITAS extension before the expiry date.

Obligations:

1. Living in Accordance with the Permit
   Living in Indonesia is for the purpose of family reunification and is not permitted to work. Dependent ITAS holders are not permitted to work or engage in income-generating businesses.
2. Reporting
   Any changes in address, civil status, or passport must be reported to the immigration office.
3. Complying with the Regulation
   Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia.
4. Exit Permit
   You must apply for an Exit Permit (EPO/ERP) if you no longer using residence permit (ITAS) – planning to leave Indonesia or have left Indonesia and do not intend to return.

Note: 

If the primary holder’s ITAS expires or is cancelled, the dependent’s ITAS will also expire.
