Second Home Visa is Now Open! – The Directorate General of Immigration by the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights has this year launched its newest service, namely, second home visas. This second home visa is given to foreigners to be able to live in Indonesia for a long period of 5-10 years in Indonesia.
This latest service from immigration is one of the government’s efforts to bring in foreigners who are considered to have the potential to invest and build a business in Indonesia.

Definition of Second Home Visa
Quoting from the molina.imigration.go.id page, a Second-Home Visa refers to a type of non-working Visa intended for foreigners and/or their companions who will stay in Indonesia for 5 years after all the specific requirements are fulfilled.
Second-Home Visa is suitable for foreigners who come to Indonesia as Investors, Travelers and Elderly / Retirement Tourists
Holders of a Second-Home Visa can also apply for the same Visa for their children, husband/wife, or parents as followers/companions.
Requirements for Second Home Visa for single person?
Personal
1. Main Document
> Passport still valid for a minimum of 36 (thirty six) months;
> Proof of Fund in the form of an account owned by a foreigner or Guarantor with a value of at least Rp. 2,000,000,000.00 (two billion rupiah) or equivalent;
> Recent color photos;
> Personal Curriculum Vitae (CV);
2. Additional Documents
> Evidence of having received the full dose of the COVID-19 vaccine;
> Statement of willingness to comply with all applicable health protocols in Indonesia;
> Proof of ownership of health insurance/travel insurance which includes health financing, and/or a statement of ability to pay independently if exposed to COVID-19 while in Indonesian Territory;
Requirements for Second Home Visa for followers / dependents?
Wife
1. Main Document
> Passport still valid for a minimum of 36 (thirty six) months;
> A recent color photograph with a size of 4 cm x 6 cm (four centimeters by six centimeters) with a white background;
> Second-Home Visa or Second-Home ITAS that belongs to husband or wife, children or parents who are legal and still valid;
> Evidence of having a family relationship with a foreigner holding a Second-Home Visa or Second-Home ITAS in the form of a marriage certificate or marriage book, for husbands/wives holding Second Home Visas or Second Home ITAS, translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator except in English;
2. Additional Documents
> Evidence of having received the full dose of the COVID-19 vaccine;
> Statement of willingness to comply with all applicable health protocols in Indonesia;
> Proof of ownership of health insurance/travel insurance which includes health financing, and/or a statement of ability to pay independently if exposed to COVID-19 while in Indonesian Territory;
Parents or Children
1. Main Document
> Passport still valid for a minimum of 36 (thirty six) months;
> A recent color photograph with a size of 4 cm x 6 cm (four centimeters by six centimeters) with a white background;
> Second-Home Visa or Second-Home ITAS that belongs to husband or wife, children or parents who are legal and still valid;
> Proof of having a family relationship with a foreigner holding a Second Home Visa or Second Home ITAS in the form of a birth certificate or family card stating that the foreigner is the parent or child of the holder of a Second Home Visa or Second Home ITAS, translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator unless in English;
2. Additional Documents
> Evidence of having received the full dose of the COVID-19 vaccine;
> Statement of willingness to comply with all applicable health protocols in Indonesia;
> Proof of ownership of health insurance/travel insurance which includes health financing, and/or a statement of ability to pay independently if exposed to COVID-19 while in Indonesian Territory;

Limited Stay Visa Not for the Purpose of Working for a Second Home for Followers (Husband/Wife/Children/Parents), Rp. 2 million.
Stay Permit (ITAS)
Single Person
Limited Stay Permit Not in the Context of Working for a Second Home with a Maximum Stay Period of 5 Years, Rp. 12 million
Wife/Parents/Children
Limited Stay Permit Not in the Context of Working for a Second Home for Followers (Husband/Wife/Children/Parents) with a Maximum Stay Period of 5 Years, Rp. 3.5 million
MERP
Re-entry Permit (MERP) is valid for a maximum of 5 years in the framework of a second home, Rp. 6 million
Important notice! for Second Home Visa holders
Reporting obligation
Holders of a Visa or Second Home Stay Permit are required to report original proof of funds documents in the form of a Bank Statement/proof of account at a State-Owned Bank or certificate of property ownership in Indonesia to the immigration office no later than 90 (ninety) days from the date of issuance of the visa/stay permit Second home.
If within 90 days a foreigner violates the statement of commitment by not showing possession of Rp. 2 billion or failing to prove ownership of a luxury category property, then the foreigner will be subject to immigration administration action in the form of revoking the visa or stay permit and deportation (return).
Property ownership
Property ownership by foreigners must follow the provisions of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning or ATR/BPN of the National Land Agency. The land area is limited and the price is set at a high value, based on each area and must be included in the luxury category.
The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning or the ATR/BPN National Land Agency does not provide space at all for foreigners to obtain property rights for landed houses, only use rights.
