Tax Card (NPWP) Registration for Employee – Registration of employees’ NPWP is an obligation for companies that employ employees who do not yet have an NPWP but these employees meet the requirements as taxpayers. NPWP stands for Taxpayer Identification Number given by the Directorate General of Taxes to Taxpayers. NPWP is the identity of the taxpayer. Simply put, the NPWP function is as a means of tax administration, and the official identity or identification of each taxpayer in tax payments and tax administration.

Previously, taxpayers could only make an NPWP by visiting the tax office and registration was done offline. Now, taxpayers can make a personal or corporate NPWP online. The Directorate General of Taxes has introduced a TIN registration method via the Internet or online or also known as e-registration. This online registration and making the NPWP system is of course very helpful for people who live far from the KPP (Tax Service Office) location. People who have a different domicile from their residential address (which is listed on their KTP) can also take advantage of the convenience of registering for a TIN online.

Before registering an NPWP online, you need to prepare the following document files:

1. Individual Taxpayers (People Who do Not Run a Business/Non-entrepreneur)

+  Indonesian: Copy of valid Identity Card (e-KTP) or driving license (SIM).
+  Foreigners: Copies of passports, valid Limited Stay Permit (KITAS), or Permanent Stay Permit (KITAP).

2. Individual Business Taxpayers (People Who Run Businesses or Work as Freelancers)

3. Individual Taxpayer (Separate Assets Ownership)

As an illustration, a woman who is married but wants her tax report to be separated from her husband. (NPWP husband and wife are not joined).
