Now Investors Do Not Need Visa Recommendations – The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) integrates Online Single Submission (OSS) and the Immigration Information and Management System (SIMKIM) under the Directorate General of Immigration. The integration of this system aims to facilitate the process of limited residence permits for business actors who previously needed a recommendation from BKPM.

Through this SIMKIM integration, the Directorate General of Immigration can enter OSS to search for the data needed, so that if investors want to apply for a limited stay permit no longer need to come to BKPM to request a limited stay visa recommendation letter.

The BKPM Limited Stay Visa Recommendations

The BKPM limited stay visa recommendation, previously required by foreign investors who wanted to arrange a limited stay visa in Indonesia, is now not needed. Especially business people who hold the position of director or commissioner of companies with share ownership of more than Rp 1 billion are entitled to be freed from payment of the Expertise and Skills Development Fund (DPKK) or often also called the Foreign Workers Compensation Fund.

The DPKK that must be paid is US $ 100 per month or US $ 1,200 per year. Likewise with shareholders who do not hold directors ‘or commissioners’ positions, they can be exempted from DPKK payments as long as their share ownership is valued at more than Rp. 1,125 billion. (based on PERKA BKPM No. 5 of 2019 amended from PERKA BKPM No. 6 of 2018 previously).

So the integration of OSS and SIMKIM is specifically to take care of the permits of shareholders who meet the DPKK free criteria. For experts or ordinary foreign workers in Indonesia who want to take care of limited stay permits, continue through TKA Online and continue paying DPKK.

Deputy for Investment Services said that the integration of this system could save significant application processing time. Because to take care of the BKPM recommendation letter, it usually takes about 5 working days. By utilizing the integration of OSS and SIMKIM, the process of making the recommendation letter can be cut. The Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights added that the integration of OSS and SIMKIM was in line with the vision of ease of licensing in the field of investment.
