Mandatory to Have an SKTT for KITAS Holders – In accordance with Law Number 24 of 2013 concerning amendments to Law Number 23 of 2006 concerning Population Administration in Article 1 paragraph 2 it is said that Residents are Indonesian Citizens and Foreigners residing in Indonesia. Therefore, not only Indonesian citizens have the right to have residence documents, but also foreign citizens.

For foreigners who already have a Limited Stay Permit (KITAS) from the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, they are required to have a Certificate of Residence (SKTT) from the local Disdukcapil Office.

This Certificate of Residence or SKTT is valid for 1-2 years, following the validity of the Kitas and can be renewed whenever it expires.

What is SKTT?

SKTT stands for Certificate of Residence. SKTT is an identity issued by the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) which is given to foreigners who have a Limited Stay Permit (KITAS). This letter must be owned by foreign citizens as a condition for staying in Indonesia. This is regulated in Article 48 Paragraph (1) of Law no. 6 of 2011 that foreigners are required to have a residence permit.

  1. Application letter from sponsor/guarantor
  2. Power of attorney. If authorized
  3. KTP of sponsor/guarantor and KTP of the authorized person, if authorized
  4. Copy of passport biodata page
  5. Kitas – Limited Stay Permit
  6. Pass photo with red background

  1. Work Permit (IMTA/Notification/Ratification of RPTKA) from the ministry of manpower

SKTT supporting documents for Investors

  1. NIB from OSS
  2. Company Deed and SK of Establishment

  1. Marriage Certificate/Marriage Book
  2. Family Card/Family card

No charge (Free) in accordance with Republic Laws Indonesia No. 24 of 2013 concerning Administration Population.

How long does the SKTT process take?

Timeframe 1-3 working days. Based on the queue.

Several Disdukcapil have implemented SKTT submissions online and some are still receiving manuals with the required files.
